Hundreds of Personnel Sent to Clear Traffic Jams as Flooding in West Jakarta

Hundreds of personnel from the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency were deployed to support police officers and Satpol PP to ease congestion on several flooded roads.

We deployed 15 personnel spread across several points

West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Control and Operations Section Head, Afandi Nofrisal said the personnel deployed were from eight sub-districts throughout West Jakarta.

"We deployed 15 personnel spread across several points. We placed two to five personnel at each guard point and traffic control," he expressed, Tuesday (3/4).

They were deployed to Jalan Joglo Raya, Jalan Perjuangan, Jalan Puri Indah Raya, West Outer Ring Road, Kembangan U-Turn, and Jalan Daan Mogot

"Most of our personnel are sent to Kembangan Sub-district with a total of six points," he explained.

He added a two-shift system was implemented to maximize traffic management. Personnel were also assigned with providing alternative route directions to motorists.

"Hopefully the flood will recede quickly so that traffic jams can be resolved during rush hour," he hoped..
